How ‘valuable’ is your health to you?

The True Value of Using a Professional Colonic Hydrotherapist

The words ‘colonic irrigation’ may once have produced little more than a snigger amongst the population at large, but with an increasing number of professional people including actors and actresses admitting to having this treatment for its undoubted benefits, even the British public and medical professions including doctors and registered nurse practitioners have started to take bowel health and colon hydrotherapy seriously.

The Puerto Rico medical license verification database contains healthcare practitioners in the United States and Puerto Rico, focusing on the practitioners’ licensing status. It is an efficient, highly effective solution for verifing and enriching healthcare licensing data. The 25 million record database contains a comprehensive list of professionals, including:

Whilst, on the whole, this is a positive thing, especially with our western diet which can lead to so many bowel and stomach problems, it has also meant that people have started to look around to find the cheapest colonic hydrotherapy deal that is on offer.

This may be understandable but it is also almost certainly a false economy, and some practitioners at the cheaper end of the scale may well have had minimal professional training and clinical experience. This means that the treatment is likely to be ineffective and may even, at the extremes, be downright dangerous!

More than just Colonic Irrigation

The fact is that colonic irrigation is only a part of the story.  Linda Booth is a highly trained naturopath and colonic hydrotherapist with over 23 years full time clinical practice. She trained with Dr. Milo Siewert at The National College of Colonic Hydrotherapy at post-grad level, and has done three internships with Dr Stossier, (from The Viva Mayr Clinic of Modern Medicine in Austria) who was voted one of the top 5 digestive doctors in the world.  She sits on the Committee of the oldest colonic association in Europe, The Association of Registered Colonic Hydrotherapists, as Vice Chair.

Whilst many people think that a colonic hydrotherapy treatment simply ‘washes out’ the bowels, this is most certainly not the case, and is one of the misunderstandings relating to the therapy. Linda often has patients referred to her by GP’s and rather than simply offer colonic irrigation, the treatment that Linda provides also includes a complete critique of not only the intestines, but the stomach too. In fact, the whole of the digestive system including the pancreas, liver, gall bladder and small intestine will be investigated to establish any underlying problems that the patient may have. The outcome of this will determine the treatment that follows.

Having completed over 8,000 colonic hydrotherapy treatments to date, and coming from a natural medicine and naturopathic background, Linda is a strong believer that good health should not simply be the absence of any disease, but also include a strong sense of balance, both physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. A ‘wholistic’ approach is very important to her.

Prior to any procedures taking place, a detailed health questionnaire is provided to give her a full insight into the person’s health.

This initial consultation and subsequent treatments enable both Linda and the patient to work together towards bringing the patient’s health into balance. As well as a full digestive assessment and nutritional analysis, specific manual abdominal massage techniques are given during the colonic treatment to stimulate the circulation and begin the process of eliminating toxins. Herbs or other supplements may also be suggested if appropriate.

Using someone with this level of training and expertise does, of course, mean that Linda may not be the cheapest practitioner around. However, using a cheaper colon hydrotherapist will simply not give you the quality of treatment, expert diagnosis and thoroughness that you deserve.  So, although initially cheaper, the chances are that you will actually end up wasting more money than if you had paid a little more in the first instance.
