THE LIVER CLEANSE:

The liver has direct control over growth and functioning of every cell in the body. Any kind of malfunction, deficiency or abnormal growth pattern of the cell is largely due to poor liver performance. The origin of most diseases can be traced to the liver. It makes perfect sense, therefore, to periodically cleanse the liver of obstructions i.e. chunks of clotted bile, (gallstones) both in the liver and gall bladder, to ensure efficient liver function is maintained.

If you have been diagnosed with a 'fatty' liver, then you will, most probably, already have many thousands of gall stones blocking the bile ducts and having a detrimental effect on liver performance and your general health. Most of these 'stones' are not detectable by ultrasound scanning and there are no methods offered in today's medical facilities to relieve this vital organ of the heavy burden it has to carry. It is reassuring to know, therefore, that you can, in the comfort of your own home, and for under £20, cleanse your liver and gall bladder, Here's how:

To start the cleanse you will need:

Pure Apple Juice 6 one litre cartons/bottles (ideally organic)
Epsom Salts 4tbsps. in 24 fl. oz water
Extra Virgin Olive Oil 4 fl. oz
Fresh Pink Grapefruit 1 large

Preparation

Drink 1 litre of apple juice for six days. This softens the stones and makes their passage through the bile ducts easier. The apple juice has a strong cleansing effect and may cause bloating and even diarrhoea during the first few days. The fermentation of the juice helps the expansion of the bile ducts. If this becomes somewhat uncomfortable, mix the apple juice, in equal quantities, with water. Drink the juice slowly throughout the day, in between meals (avoid during, just before, two hours after meals and in the evening). This should be in addition to your normal water intake. Eat normal meals.

The main part of the cleanse is best done over a weekend, when you have enough time to rest. During the cleanse, avoid taking any medicine, vitamins or pills unless absolutely necessary.

On day 6, eat a light breakfast, no milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, bacon, eggs, etc. For lunch, eat plain rice and vegetables. Do not eat or drink anything (except water) after 2pm.

Evening

6.00pm: Mix 4 tbsps Epsom Salts in 24 fl. oz water and keep in a jar or jug. This makes 4 servings. Drink your first portion now. If you find the taste unpleasant, you could mix a little lemon juice with it or try drinking it through a large straw.
8.00pm: Drink a second portion of Epsom Salts.
9.30pm: If you havn't had a bowel movement yet, you could take a water enema, which may trigger a series of bowel movements. Home Enema kits available from Manifest Health Limited. £9.99 plus P&P for a 2 litre capacity kit.
9.45pm: Squeeze the grapefruit in a glass. Pour in the olive oil. Shake/stir it well until the mixture appears watery. Drink this mix at 10pm.
10.00pm Stand next to the bed (don't sit) and drink the mixture, if possible, in one go, or otherwise with a large plastic straw. Don't take more than 5 minutes to do this.

Lie down straight away, otherwise you may not be able to release the stones. Lie flat on your back with your head high on a pillow. Keep still for 20 minutes. This gives the stones a chance to move along the bile ducts. There shouldn't be any pain, as the Epsom Salts will keep the bile duct valves wide open. Sleep if you can.

You may feel the need to empty your bowels during the night. If you do, check if there are already small gallstones (pea green or tan coloured) floating in the toilet. You may also feel nauseous during the night and the early morning hours. This will pass as the morning progresses.

The following morning

If you are suffering with diarrhoea, do not take any more Epsom Salts.

6.00am: Drink your third portion of Epsom Salts.
8.00am: Drink a fourth and final portion of Epsom Salts and rest.

If possible, it would be beneficial to give yourself a coffee enema.

10am: You can drink freshly pressed fruit juice. Half an hour later, eat one or two pieces of fruit. One hour later, you may eat light food and return to a normal eating pattern.

Recommendations

During the entire week of preparation and cleansing, avoid taking foods or drinks that are cold or chilled; they chill the liver and reduce the effectiveness of the cleanse. All foods and drinks should be warm or at least room temperature. To help the liver prepare for the main flush, try to avoid foods from animal sources, dairy products and fried foods. Otherwise eat normal meals, but avoid over-eating.

Make sure you cleanse your colon before and after you do a liver cleanse. Having regular bowel movements is not necessarily an indication that your bowel is unobstructed. Colon cleansing, either done a few days before or, ideally, on the sixth day of preparation helps to avoid or minimize any discomfort or nausea that may arise. It prevents any back-flushing of the oil mixture or waste products from the intestinal tract and also assists the body in swiftly eliminating the gallstones. Colon Hydrotherapy is the fastest, easiest and most effective method to prepare the colon for liver cleansing.
