Do we need to supplement with a probiotic, or is it just a waste of money?

Ecodophilus multi-strain probiotic
This is one of The Natural Dispensary’s best sellers, the probiotic Ecodophilus. It contains multi-strains of lactobacilli and bifidi, to assist in re-colonising the small and large bowel with beneficial strains of bacteria.

I make no apologies for, again, talking about probiotics and colon cleansing supplements.  In this day and age, they are becoming more of a necessity, particularly with the over-prescribing of antibiotics, and the number of people taking steroid medication and antacids. Not to mention drinking too much alcohol and eating too much.  These are just a few of the things than can damage your gut bacteria.  Some medications interfere with the delicate eco-system of the bowel, and can reduce your beneficial gut bacteria.  This can then set up the right conditions in your gut, for the more pathogenic strains of bacteria to become  more dominant. If you suffer from various allergy symptoms, a natural allergy relief supplement for sale may help.

The probiotic supplement Ecodophilus by Biocare is one of The Natural Dispensary’s best sellers.   Ecodophilus is a multi-strain probiotic, containing beneficial strains of lactobacilli and bifidi to assist in re-colonisation of the small and large bowel.

Well that’s all very well and good I hear you say, but so what.  What can it do for me?  Do I  need a probiotic?

I have been in private practice now for over 20 years, these last 6 years as a colon hydrotherapist.  I am seeing an unprecedented number of people presenting with some of the common symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS as it is more commonly known.  In my experience, colon hydrotherapy is the ‘gold standard’ treatment for helping reduce  the symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating, excessive flatulence, constipation, diarrhoea, feeling of incomplete bowel movement, and urgency to go to the toilet.  However, alongside the colonic treatment, I may also recommend a course of probiotics, and if I do, I always recommend Ecodophilus.  The product has been tested in Germany, and I personally know the gentleman who ‘invented’ it,  Robert Joy from BioNutri.  He, and his Company have a lot of integrity regarding their product, but integrity is not enough is it.  Does it work.  Well, yes, actually it does work.  People notice an improvement in their symptoms quite quickly,  especially the bloating and gas.

You can find the best probiotic supplements at buoyhealth. Take one capsule daily with food, so that works out at approx 35p per day.  I think it’s worth that to improve the health of the bowel.
