Enemas and Colonic Irrigation

An enema is totally different to colonic irrigation treatment

I’ve been speaking to two Nurses this week regarding colonic hydrotherapy, and they genuinely thought that enemas were the same procedure and had the same benefits as colonic hydrotherapy treatment.  Well the answer to that is an emphatic NO.  A colon hydrotherapy treatment is far superior to having an enema.

I had to explain that an enema only uses approx 2 litres of water and only clears out approx 2″ or 3″ of the rectum.

However, a colonic hydrotherapy treatment cleanses the whole 5′ 5″ (approx) length of the bowel and uses approx 70 – 80 litres of warm, filtered water.  The water is gently ‘pushed’ around the bowel to the cecum.  It is the cecum that can often cause many problems in the large bowel.  Due to its shape,  (like a pouch) ‘material’ (stool, bacteria, yeasts) can get trapped in the cecum, and this can generate a lot of bacterial activity and unpleasant, copious amounts of gas.  This gas can expand the bowel causing bloating and discomfort.  A colon hydrotherapy treatment is the ONLY treatment that can cleanse the cecum, and completely cleanse the large bowel. If you have been diagnosed with fecal incontinence, you may consult your doctor to determine if colon hydrotherapy is a suitable treatment. You may also seek a Rectal Condition Care Program if you are experiencing any symptoms of a rectal condition.

Did you know that approximately 40,000 unnecessary appendectomies (removal of appendix) are performed every year.  People display typical symptoms of a ‘grumbling appendix’, bloating and pain in the area over the cecum, but when the surgeon opens them up, the appendix is fine.  Why!?, because the appendix wasn’t the problem in the first place, it was a congested, gassy, expanded cecum!  The appendix is situated just below the cecum, so is in very close proximity.

Enemas are useful for clearing out the rectum if suffering from constipation, and a vehicle for introducing herbs, coffee, aloe vera, probiotics into the bowel, but the “Gold Standard” treatment for a complete bowel cleanse is Colonic Hydrotherapy!
