EPSOM SALTS ENEMA
Epsom Salts Enemas to treat Constipation
Epsom Salts enemas were once used by Nurses in Hospitals on those patients who suffered with constipation. Indeed a few decades ago, colonic hydrotherapy was widely available in Hospitals, but alas not any longer. It’s easier to give someone a cheap (usually ineffective pill) than to pay a Nurse to do a colonic treatment. Too labour intensive for our strapped for cash NHS.
I very often give an epsom salt enema prior to carrying out the colonic hydrotherapy treatment. This helps soften any impacted poo in the rectum. It’s a laxative and so stimulates the natural wave-like contractions in the bowel, helping to push the poo and waste material along and out. Once the ‘plug’ of hardened poo from the rectum has released, I can then proceed with the colonic treatment.
